THE MARTHA HILL DANCE FUND STANDS IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE BLACK COMMUNITY, WHICH HAS BEEN HEAVILY IMPACTED BY COVID-19 AND BY 400 YEARS OF INJUSTICES IN THIS COUNTRY. GEORGE FLOYD, AHMAUD ARBERY, BREONNA TAYLOR AND COUNTLESS OTHERS, WE SEE YOU. WE PLEDGE TO TAKE ACTION TO MOVE TOWARDS A MORE JUST AND HUMANE WORLD BY AIDING DANCERS OF COLOR IN SUPPORT OF THEIR DANCE CAREERS. WE COMMIT TO CONTINUING TO HONOR THE PROFOUND ACHIEVEMENTS OF BLACK ARTISTS TO THE DANCE FIELD. AND, WE GIVE A DEEP BOW TO THOSE BLACK ARTISTS WHOM WE HAVE HONORED WITH OUR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AND MID-CAREER AWARDS: DONALD MCKAYLE, MARY HINKSON, SYLVIA WATERS, CAROLYN ADAMS, VIRGINIA JOHNSON, ROBERT GARLAND, FREDERICK EARL MOSLEY, NIGEL CAMPBELL AND CHANEL DA SILVA.
